Collaboration with India Amos and Diego Rioja
Mc Squared is musical instrument with the shape of a cube, which detects motion and generates sounds from each side. It can be played by simply waving anything in front of each side. The project, developed with India Amos and Diego Rioja, is an experiment aimed at finding new interactions for musical performance, applying the concepts learned in the Physical Computing class.
Each side of the Mc Squared cube has an infrared sensor that detects movements within a range of about 2 to 12 inches in front of it. Signals from each sensor trigger a different sound, using the Minim library in the Processing environment.
